I mean an actual number with a landline, I have some phone jacks in my apartment, but not a home phone. Will the phone jacks be enough? I have heard some say that I need a home phone, and others say I just need a working phone jack. Thanks. I was happy to learn… Qwest offers what is referred to as dry loop or naked DSL. You’ll have to see if they have dry loop DSL available in your area. Dry Loop DSL still requires the copper phone lines, but doesn’t require a active landline with a dial tone. Qwest charges more for Internet service if you don’t have phone service through them. You can go to a broadband Internet comparison that lets you input your address, and compare the pricing and terms of the offers that are available in you area. Pick the best one for your Internet usage and budget.
